WHAT'S NEAR BY
Hastings Old Town is nestled in the valley between the East and West hills and is presided over by its own historical 1066 Norman Castle. Within approx. 20ft from our restaurant front door –is the Victorian funicular railway—handy for being transported to the top of the West Hill- whereupon you can enjoy the stunning panoramic views across this unique and historical fishing town. Across to the East is the Fairlight Country Park. Whites Seafood & Steak Bar is set in the pedestrianised George Street, in the heart of the Old Town, surrounded by a wealth of historical buildings, antiques emporiums, fabulous boutique shops, lively and cosmopolitan pubs and wonderful art galleries. Within a short walking distance of the restaurant you will find yourself amongst the famous black fishing net huts and amongst the boats of Britain’s biggest beach- launched fishing fleet. Other attractions within walking distance include the world famous Hastings crazy Golf courses, the Sea Life Centre and the wonderful Fisherman’s museum in Rock a Nore-which once used to be the fishing fleet’s church and which is still used to this day for the christening service of local children- we proudly had our own daughter christened there. There are many many reasons to visit Hastings Old Town- just be sure to make your visit even more special with a meal at Whites.
